Hello!
SEAAD, INC. Basketball Tournament was hosted by Palmetto Club of the Deaf at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC on February 27-March 1, 2003. The weather was dreary and cold. There were 13 men and 5 women teams. There were 157 men, 58 women, 6 officers and 359 registered fans. The total was 580 of the registered fans included officers and players. The SEAAD INC. basketball tournament was the most successful tourney that SEAAD, INC. and the Palmetto Club of the Deaf ever had!

In Women’s Championship game, Palmetto Club of the Deaf played against Piedmont Association of the Deaf. PCD beat PAD by 7 points. The score was 64-57 with overtime. It was an outstanding and thrilling game. A lot of fans gave cheers. PCD is very excited and eager to go to USADB in Washington DC in March. Recently, USADB passed the vote to add other 8 women teams to make 16 women teams. PAD is asked to invite and participate the USADB Basketball tournament so will they go.

In Men’s Championship game, it was a thrilling game as what the women game did to watch Macon Athletic Association of the Deaf and Florida State Association of the Deaf. In the first half, FSAD led about 20 points but in the second half, Macon came back to beat FSAD. It was an unbelievable and amazing game. Macon and FSAD are also very excited and eager to go to USADB in March.

Thank you,
Bruce Barnes, SEAAD, INC. President
